Best Chinese food on Long Island and perhaps even the city! Cathy the owner is always on site to welcome you and make sure everything is done to perfection. Their dim sum is outstanding, as are their spare ribs. Dishes are authentic, aromatic and beautifully presented. Wait staff is helpful and will recommend off the menu delights! A must try for all who love Asian food!

Love Pearl East! Have been coming here for many years. It is exactly what you want from a Chinese restaurant. It is delicious and has the best service.

Pearl East is a very special Chinese-Japanese Restaurant. The food is beautifully plated and served as if each dish was an expensive piece of artwork. Cathy, the lovely and gracious host makes each diner feel special. The restaurant is always busy which is a tribute to Cathy, her staff, her excellent chefs and food artists. After attending one of Pearl East’s special feasts to celebrate the beginning of the Chinese new year, I was amazed at the array of spectacular dishes on the menu and the way each dish was served. Entrees and some appetizers are served and adorned with fruit and vegetables carved in the shape of small animals, palm trees, pandas, lions, and gorgeous flowers.

Aside from the fabulous Shinese entrees, Pearl East serves fabulous beef and pork dishes and some of the best sushi in town. All her meats, fish and poutlry are the highest quality. Definitely try any of their sushi and sashimi dishes along with dim sum, and their chicken dishes.
Pearl East is a treasure and a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions or to enjoy a romantic dinner. Cathy and Pearl East are also well known for the catering excellence and their civic and charitable work.
What more can I say, than Pearl East is the best pan asian food on Long Island and one of New York’s best.

Very tasty and fresh food. Nice staff. Interesting menu. Dim sum sampler and crispy honey chicken with three types of nuts were both very good. I will be back.

This is a top notch restaurant. From the dim sum to the Peking duck, the appetizers to the sushi, the high quality meats (same as Peter Luger I was told) to the seafood dishes, this restaurant excels. Many times the presentation includes small animals carved from assorted food things. Last time was a detailed panda standing in the middle of our dim sum and appetizer serving plate.

Recommended dishes include:
Any dim sum ( fried shrimp and chives, har gow (shrimp dumpling often in the shape of swans), any special dim sum of the day, veggie (good but not my favorite).
The dim sum arrives hot with a special presentation. Tender wrapping with flavorful fresh fillings.
Best Peking Duck. The duck is consistently tender (perfect temp) and the skin is thin and deliciously crispy. Either buns or pancakes are available. Each portion is made table side with hoisin, scallion and cucumber.

Tuna and salmon special sushi dumplings stuffed with crab salad are very good. The fish is fresh and pairs well the crab salad inside. Fresh and delicious. Other sushi standouts are the snow mountain roll (spicy yellowtail inside with tempura flakes and spicy tuna on top), caterpillar roll (tempura shrimp inside, topped with kiwi and mango sauce , soooo good. angry lobster (shrimp tempura with lobster salad and caviar ), crazy (spicy salmon crunch with spicy tuna crunch).

Crispy paper shrimp rolls are very good. They arrive with a hot, thin and crispy exterior and a juicy shrimp/seafood inside served with champagne mayo. Yumm! The crispy shrimp ball with soup inside is equally delicious. (See pic behind panda). The chicken satay was not as good. Instead go with a seafood soup, BBQ ribs, or Thai spring roll with shrimp. Check out the appetizer specials which are usually a good bet.

The porterhouse in a brown mushroom sauce is the medium rare ordered, tender, and well seasoned. The mushroom red wine sauce was well executed. Excellent cut of meat. The BBQ shrimp (not BBQ but they call it that) is awesome. Super large shrimp sautéed or lightly fried till a delicious spicy sweet seasoned crust is achieved. Served with broccoli and other veggies. Other recommended dishes are miso cod, lobster with sticky rice in black bean or garlic sauce, honey lamb chops (tender chops in a sweet glaze), chicken with chestnuts, mango chicken, ying and yang prawns, jumbo Szechuan prawns).

The service is professional and excellent. The owner/manager is hands on and sees that the customers are always well attended to.

This is a truly top level Chinese restaurant experience.

Amazing food and drinks… Their sushi selections are great as much as the Chinese food!!! Service was great, too!!

Came by this place for dinner while hanging out with friends in Manhasset one evening. The staff here is very professional, starting with the host who greeted us.
The menu has a lot of our favorites-great soups, chow mein and chop suey. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and egg drop soup, which were both top-notch. I also recommend the shrimp egg rolls, which are scrumptious. This food goes along great with either a domestic or imported beer. Ended the night with ice cream and a fortune cookie, which wished me good luck. I felt lucky already having found this place, and so will you. It is a great Chinese place in the heart of Manhasset.

The food at pearl east is as good as it gets on LI and by that I mean it tastes just like the authentic restaurants in China town. We had two specials, the pork belly and the short ribs (which were both AMAZING) the flavors were tremendous and we highly enjoyed them. I also had the blonde miso soup, which was tasty. We had pork fried rice which was good and an order of another fried rice, the name escapes me but it was delicious, sausage and shrimp. Highly recommend Pearl East

My experience with Pearl East came in the form of a Christmas party using their private back room. The room was very nice. The presentation of the food and the staff were also nice. There were many cool sculptures made out of food. The Chinese food was really good and a couple of the dishes really exceeded expectations. I really enjoyed the crispy honey chicken with three nuts! They really did a good job for a private business party-sit down dinner for about 50.

The service was great, the owner was so sweet and personal. They valet park your car at the front. This restaurant looks like nothing much from the outside, but is so beautifully decorated on the inside. The restaurant has a very relaxing vibe. They have a nice back room for parties. The owner did tell me that the restaurant is ridiculously packed on the weekends and I went on a week day and had a great experience. It may be a good idea to take-out on the weekend or go on a week night to avoid the crazy rush if you do not like waiting. The food was extremely reasonably priced I could not believe how good the prices were for the quality of the food and the beautiful decor. I had the Alaska sushi, the shrimp dumplings, and vegetable chow fun and all of these dishes were phenomenal. I eat mostly Asian food and I have eaten at many different Chinese/ Japanese places and this place is at the top of my list.
